The greatest injustice in history.
Isaac Woodard’s case.
After being honorably discharged from the United States Army on February 12, 1946, Isaac Woodard had no idea he was going to lose his two eyes the same day honor was bestowed on him.
On his way home he got into an argument with the bus driver, it was for a silly reason but he ended up being arrested and taken to prison; he was still on his army uniform. After the police had beat him mercilessly, his two eyes were gouged out.
The police chief who masterminded this cruelty was taken to court but he got acquitted by an all-white jury in less than 20 minutes.
Woodard remained blind till the end of his life in 1992.
